The Book of the Saints
The Synaxarium, otherwise known as the book of saints, presents the lives of each saint recognized in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOTC). It has been translated into English by Sir E. A. Wallis Budge in 1928. The lives of each saint are arranged according to the Liturgical calendar of the EOTC with the corresponding Gregorian dates (Western calendar).
The EOTC is one of the oldest forms of Christianity, having faithfully preserved the stories and traditions both from the Hebraic ancestry through King Solomon, and from the Christian heritage of the apostles and saints. This Synaxarium (collection) presents the lives of the most holy men and women known to the Ethiopian church at the time of its composition.
