HOLY BIBLE

The Divine Canonical Books of The EOTC

According to the EOTC, the bible is the written word of God who is the author of both the Old & New Testaments. But God's word is not only contained in the scriptures alone. His unwritten word also exists within the Apostolic traditions. With equal veneration, we receive his word through the scriptures and the traditions of the faith.

The Ethiopian Biblical Canon is unique. It differs from other branches of the Christian faith. The EOTC has a total of 81 books. 46 books in the Old Testament, and 35 books in the New Testament. The books were compiled from the Septuagint.
